The newly announced GeForce GTX 1080 is gonna have some serious fire-power with 8GB of GDDR5X RAM, raising the performance bar over the already powerful GTX 980Ti and Titan X, and set to be the new GPU king on the block. It's expected to retail for around $600.
What caught my eye, was this screenshot from the promo video of the GTX 1080:
As you can see, NVIDIA is advertising the GeForce GTX 1080 with the new DisplayPort v1.4, which supports 4K@120Hz with HDR enabled.
This was the missing piece for both VR headsets and for the new generation of TVs which are UHD and HDR-capable (approaching rec.2020 color space, for you techies out there).
