Today, Apple announced new iPads, a new 5K screen iMac and the new Mac mini.
So I figured, let's go to the Apple store and configure the new Mac mini with top specs, to see the real configuration people would actually want to order.
At $2,337, it's not pretty.
What do you get for this price: Intel i7-4578U, 2x8GB (16GB) 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, 1TB SSD and wireless mouse and keyboard.
Thanks Apple, but I think I'll go for a Gigabyte Brix 4770R.
Fully configured, it's about $800 less, and I get a better CPU, faster iGPU, faster 1866MHz RAM, and my own choice of SSD storage (for example - Samsung 850 Pro 1TB or SanDisk Extreme Pro 960GB), including a Logitech K400 wireless keyboard+mouse.
Top it off with Windows 7 SP1 x64 Pro, and I'm good to go.
