Samsung SM951 512GB M.2 AHCI PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD - Deal on Amazon

The 512GB Samsung SM951 AHCI M.2 2280 PCIe gen3 x4 SSD is now available on Amazon for the lowest price yet - just $289.59.

Considered as one of the fastest consumer drives in the world, this little M.2 stick is a must have for NUC enthusiasts. Also compatible with many modern laptops, and many mini-PCs from various vendors.
This thing is faster than two SATA SSDs in RAID 0, with sequential writes reaching 1500MB/s. Wow!
This model was available only to OEMs,  so you had to purchase a new laptop with the PCIe M.2 option to get one. Now you can buy it on it's own.

Do note there is an NVMe PCIe "brother" - the almighty Samsung 950 Pro, which is ever so slightly faster thanks to its newer NVMe command set. But you'd never notice the difference between those two. They're both awesomely fast.
Currently around $27 cheaper, the SM951 is the better deal for now.

If you already got one, here's a good tip:  Make sure the the chips on the drive make direct contact with the chassis or some other thermal conductor. If the label on the drive is in the way, remove it.
